Report or scoop
“Both proposals go before the AMA’s CPT Editorial Panel (the group that decides what gets a billing code, and therefore what insurance will pay for) this September.”
Two competing CPT coding proposals for TMS, a bundled 'omakase' one (Tab 92) that would cover accelerated protocols with inter-session intervals and on-site physician time, and an a la carte one (Tab 53), are scheduled to go before the AMA CPT Editorial Panel in September 2026. The panel decides billing codes and therefore what insurance pays for. Post dated 2026-07-16.
The statement passes on information rather than an expectation: cites sources ('I am told', 'sources say'), or names a date for another organization's internal action (layoffs, hires, closures) 30 days or less ahead. Listed in the reports table with a confirmation rate, never scored.
