Satire or irony
“If Walking were submitted to the FDA, it would likely be approved for major depression, but probably include a package insert warning of the significant risk associated with falling down and spraining your god-damn ankle.”
Satirical close of the 'Walking' entry in the author's drug series (2024-01-01). After citing meta-analyses giving walking an effect size of about 0.86 to 1.0 for depression, the author imagines a fictional 'TheFrontierPsychiatrists BioMedicine, Inc.' submitting walking to the FDA and asserts the FDA would likely approve it for major depression with an ankle-sprain warning.
Marked or evident satire, hyperbole or irony.
