Post on the CDC provisional report of 49,449 US suicide deaths in 2022, a 2.6% rise and a record. After listing failures of current mental health treatment (inaccurate diagnoses, ineffective treatments, refusal to pay for effective ones, 988 calls redirected out of state), the author asserts the crisis and the suicide numbers will not improve until the field admits the failure.
