“you have cut the spigot of revenue into a publicly traded company, which on the next earnings call would have to report that they lost a bunch of money. ... Assuming it craters the company entirely, you'd walk away with $17 million.”
Conditional: if an investor bought puts on Neuronetics (market cap about $149M) and gave about 1,000 free TMS machines to clinics using Neuronetics devices, Neuronetics' per-treatment fee revenue would collapse, it would report large losses at the next earnings call, and the stock could go to zero. The author frames this as a healthcare arbitrage opportunity that has not been executed.
