Applying panelist Matt Wallaert's point that extrinsic rewards degrade intrinsic motivation: gamification via Greenroom gems (Spotify) and Facebook stars could reduce participation on social audio platforms. Followed by: if extrinsic rewards become the driving force, 'we are in trouble'.
